Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine appointed Abygail C. Deemer of Warren, Ohio, to a two-year term as an Undergraduate Student Trustee of the ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ Board of Trustees. Her appointment ends May 16, 2026.

Deemer is a senior biology major and honors student. A dedicated student leader, she has held multiple leadership roles at ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ. She served as the Undergraduate Student Government’s director of finance and administration from March 2023 to February 2024, where she assisted the organization’s general assembly with planning and executing events for the student body. Since December 2023, she has served as the Panhellenic Council’s vice president of risk management and peer accountability. In that position, she has planned events and created accessible, virtual lessons focused on wellness. She also previously served as a ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ orientation leader and a ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ Student Center Information Desk assistant.

In 2023, Deemer was a nominee for the Nancy and John Scott Leadership Award, which recognizes a ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ student who has shown exceptional leadership through their organizational involvement and has had a positive and significant impact on the greater ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ community. Deemer’s activities also include serving as an undergraduate research assistant at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED), a position she has held since September 2023.
