ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ Salem Students Receive Davey Tree Scholarships

Two Salem Students Receive Davey Tree Scholarships

ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ at Salem recently welcomed representatives from the Davey Tree Expert Company who presented scholarships to horticulture students Anna Detoro and Pamela Sears.

Presenting the scholarships from Davey Tree were Mark Noark, manager of recruiting and training, and R. J. Laverne, manager of education and training.

Each student received a $1,000 scholarship from the Davey Arbor Grant Foundation. The company annually awards 50 such scholarships throughout the U. S., with three of those awarded to ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ students. Codi Steber, a biology major on the ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ Campus, was the third ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ student to receive the scholarship.

Detoro currently is working as an intern at the Davey Institute’s Plant and Soil Laboratory, while Sears is the garden manager at Home Depot in Salem.
