Ƶ Ƶ Formally Installs Beverly Warren

Members of the Ƶ community were invited to attend the inauguration of Beverly Warren as the 12th president of the university on May 1 in the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center on the Ƶ Campus. A reception followed in the Ƶ Student Center Ballroom.

A week of activities and events leading up to the inauguration day celebrated student success and campus community achievements on Ƶ Ƶ’s eight campuses and the Regional Academic Center in Twinsburg. All events were free.

Events included the dedication of the Center for Undergraduate Excellence on April 28 and dedication of the Ƶ Ƶ . On April 30, there was a presidential tree planting at Manchester Field and a “Presidential Perspectives: A Discussion with Past and Present Ƶ Ƶ Presidents” that took place in the Ƶ Student Center Ballroom. The panel discussion, was moderated by CNN news anchor and Ƶ Ƶ alumna Carol Costello, featuring Warren and former Ƶ Ƶ presidents Michael Schwartz, Carol Cartwright and Lester Lefton.

Regional Campuses also hosted several events at their locations, including a barbeque for students and a tree planting in honor of Warren. The Ƶ Board of Trustees will hold its next regular business meeting at 11 a.m. on  May 20 in The John Elliot Center for Architecture and Environmental Design on the Ƶ Campus.

Ohio is conducting a statewide tornado drill at 9:50 a.m. on Wednesday, March 18. Ƶ will be participating in this test.

This year’s May 4 Commemoration, to be held May 1-4, 2026, will include special remembrances of John Cleary, one of the nine wounded students, and Jerry M. Lewis, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus of Sociology, who served as a faculty marshal during the campus shootings and worked tirelessly to ensure that the legacy of May 4 would endure.
