Members of the ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ delegation attending , a global peace conference in Kigali, Rwanda, were treated to a soaring show by this mother with her baby from a group of local velvet monkeys. Velvet monkeys are common throughout East Africa and live in rural and urban environments.
The conference is sponsored by ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ ºìÐÓÊÓÆµâ€™s School of Peace and Conflict Studies, ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ ºìÐÓÊÓÆµâ€™s Gerald H. Read Center for International and Intercultural Education, the and the , a non-profit organization dedicated to ending genocide and other global atrocities.
Bringing together peace and conflict experts and educators from around the world, the conference is another building block in ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ ºìÐÓÊÓÆµâ€™s growing relationship with the University of Rwanda. In May 2022, ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ ºìÐÓÊÓÆµâ€™s Board of Trustees approved ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ opening a base of operations at the University of Rwanda for creating collaborative educational exchanges and to serve as a base of operations for ºìÐÓÊÓÆµ ºìÐÓÊÓÆµâ€™s recruitment throughout Africa.
